TAHB Orientation for the 2025-26 year will be on September 2, beginning at 10am. The schedule for the day will be as follows:

10am – Parent & Student Orientation (Mandatory for all families)

11am – Meet the Teachers Open House (unstructured, optional)

11am – Musical Instrument “Petting Zoo” by Ted Brown Music. Our education representative from Ted Brown will have the range of band instruments available for students to test out. This is perfect for kids who want to join band but aren’t sure what instrument they want to play. They can try out all the options (sanitized in between) and, if you choose to rent that day, they will have rental information available.

TAHB is excited to announce 2 new teachers on our team for 2025-26!

The first is Sean-David McGoran who will be teaching our Band 1 and Band 2 classes!

The second is Ela Escobar who will be teaching 3 levels of Violin classes for us. The new schedule for these classes is published on the program info tab.

Due to teacher availability our schedule has been revised for the 2025-26 year! See the Program & Class Info tab to see the new schedule. Classes will all run between 9am-12:15pm on Tuesdays for this school year!

Due to some potential calendar changes, the opening of registration is being postponed until August 1, 2025. We want to be sure that we have have a completely accurate calendar and schedule before we open registration. Thank you for your patience!

Registration for the fall of 2025 will open on July 14 through the website. Class schedule is now available. Class descriptions and student handbook will be released when registration opens.

TAHB Classes will be held on Tuesday in the 2025-26 School Year.  This is a new day of the week for TAHB. Classes will still meet at St. John’s in Lakewood.

The 2025-26 Class Schedule of class times will be published in June. We expect to offer similar classes to what was offered this year and during the same class time range of 10am-3pm. Registration will be in August.

On September 5th, Orientation for parents will be held at our normal location (8602 Bridgeport Way SW, Lakewood) at 11am. This is for both registered families and interested prospective families. If you have not yet decided about enrollment, this is the perfect time to get your questions answered and meet the teachers.

Class Placement/Meet the Teacher: While parents are attending orientation, our teachers will be offering mini classes for the students. (During mini-classes, teachers can make placement decisions for any students who are unsure of their correct placement level. *Please note this is not a formal audition. Placement decisions will be based on group playing and sight reading in the class setting. Students wanting to enroll in Band 2 should have their instruments with them.)

Open House/Meet and Greet: From 12-1pm there will be informal time to meet the teachers and ask questions of teachers and the board. There will also be a representative of Ted Brown music present to allow students to try out different instruments and reserve rentals.

TAHB is excited to announce a new class added to the Fall schedule! We will be offering a Violin 1 for the young (5-9) beginner! This class will be taught by a new teacher to TAHB, Eli Connolly! Check out the Instructor Page and the Class Descriptions to see more information!

TAHB is excited to welcome 2 new teachers to our team for 2024-25. Kevin Robertson will be leading our Band 1 & 2 classes and Thomas Morisada will be teaching Choir 1 & 2. Please check out the Instructors page to read their bios. These teachers bring decades of experience to TAHB, and we are so excited to have them on board!

Orientation and Class Placement will happen on September 5, 2024 and regularly scheduled classes will begin on September 12, 2024. Please save these dates on your calendar! Exact times for Orientation and Placement meetings will be available in August.

We are working to get a schedule and all pertinent information published. This should be listed on the website by August 1, 2024. Fall registration will open online on August 19, 2024.

*Ted Brown Music will be on-site on August 24 to process rental requests for band instruments for the 2023-24 school year.

The schedule for Orientation:

10am- Parent Meeting, Handbook Review and Questions

11am- Meet and Greet with Teachers & Instrument “Petting Zoo”

12pm- Auditions: Please send an email if your child needs to be on the audition schedule.

Instrument “Petting Zoo”: A chance to try out different instruments. If your student is interested in band but wants to try holding and blowing in the different instruments to get a “feel” for their options, this is a great opportunity to try them out!!!!

TAHB will hold the final concert of the year at 6pm on Sunday, June 11. All classes will participate and all are welcome!

We are excited to welcome new teacher, Jules Morrow, who will take over our Vocal program, and will be adding classes for Toddler Music, Songwriting, and Piano!

Miss Shelli will be back to teach classes starting April 14! Register now for a 3 month choir session from April through June!

TAHB will resume in-person classes on Thursday April 14, 2022. Classes will also be live streamed for those who wish to participate from home. Maybe you have chosen virtual or hybrid school this year due to the pandemic and need a virtual option for MUSIC classes. We’ve got you covered! To help kids stay safe from covid (which is extra hard with all of the blowing and spitting that happens with wind instruments!), TAHB is offering online music classes that are open to anyone that is homeschooling, virtual schooling, or hybrid schooling. We have Band (beginner, intermediate and advanced/chamber/jazz), Orchestra (Jr and Regular), and Guitar/Ukulele options for kids age 6-18 this year.
